Genius

An unexpected and unwelcome start to the day, watching some terrorist attack on breakfast TV up at 42nd street. And although it quickly became apparent that it was a minor incident, it hung over the City all day - it seemed that every NYPD officer in the town, every Trooper and the Army were out on the streets. If it had been successful, it wouldn’t have been quite so easy to brush off. One of the bomber’s stupid neighbours was quoted as saying, "I'm actually very shocked, because he was a religious person and very quiet, not very outgoing." Doh! Doh! Doh!! Noooooo!!!!! That’s the guy!
So we headed downtown instead and went up for a view from the One World Trade Center. The views are good - the money grubbing experience, a whole lot less so. Then up midtown for some regular stuff - Central Station, Bryant Park to sit and watch the skating and guzzle gyoza, Times Square, Broadway, Macy’s.. then back.
Except I had to step out for provisons and found a Paulaner microbrewery place just round the corner! That delayed things a bit.
And then the main event! Springsteen on Broadway? Nooo! Right here on our doorstep at the wonderful little Bowery Ballroom, Perfume Genius! And I tell you, just bloody knockout. That guy's going to be big. Oh yes. Except he looks like he could maybe do with a good feed.
