St Ives is looking lovely....And more rantings!!

Just been out for an early evening drink with Ann's friends, Heather, Matt & Amy and on the walk home just look how lovely the town is looking. This is the nicest St Ives has looked at Christmas for years and there's loads of little Christmas Trees all along the harbour. We've never seen St Ives looking so lovely at Christmas.

Unfortunately, Ann almost didn't make it to early evening Xmas drinkies with her mates. Do you want to know what happened?.............................. Ann's friend, Angela, texted us last night. We could see we had a text but we could not access it. Our iphone screen was tarten??? After trying to power off the phone we are very techie so know that is a good thing to do, it popped up with a message saying 'iphone is disabled'. Googled 'iphone disabled' and that popped up with stuff to do …...................... but it was all gobbledy gook to Ann...........................

…..............Soooooo off Ann went to the Vodafone shop in Penzance this morning.................... Explained the problem and 'very helpful member of staff' NOT (think he was the manager?), said, 'Moisture has got into your phone. There's nothing you can do. It can't be fixed. It's an iphone 6SE and the contracts on those are really cheap now. Let me just see what kind of a deal we can do for you. Ann is paying £17pm for a sim only contract for unlimited mins, unlimited texts and 8gb of data.

Ann said; 'Oh yes, a big wave came and crashed over me while I was taking a photo and the phone got a bit wet. Can I just stick it in a bag of rice to dry it out?'

'Vodafone person said, 'NO', the screen is destroyed and will not work again. EVER! Obviously because my owner is not very techie, OK she's not at all techie she just accepted what 'Vodafone' person was telling her. Vodafone person said, 'The best deal we can do you is a new phone with unlimited mins, texts and 4gb of data for £34pm but as you're having such a horrible day we can do it for £30pm.'

Ann said, I don't want to commit to buying a new phone. This one was working perfectly until last night. I've got an old iphone4 at home. Can I just put my sim card in that?' 'Vodafone person' said yes and showed Ann how to remove the old sim card and put in the new one. And then Ann said, 'Thanks for your help, I'll probably pop in later with my iphone4 so you can help me put in the sim card.'

…..........................And then off she went to 'Penzance' Phone Mechanics'. OMG – how fabulous are they? Fixed the problem in about 2 mins, didn't charge her and also helped her reconnect her thumb print to the phone so she could connect to it.

#PenzancePhoneMechanics WE LOVE YOU. #Vodafone WE HATE YOU xxx
