Frosted rose (or Amazing Grace!)

The frost was back this morning with a vengeance. It lead to a lovely sunny day but icy paths again. There were great swirling frost patterns on the car roofs and windows.

I had a look around the garden but not much sign of anything new but I was surprised to see this Grace rose frosted and glistening in the early sun. The others on the stem are dead and want removing but this one seems to have been opening which came as quite a surprise. There was a bud too.

Spent the morning making Bobotie to freeze. It is a sized Cape Malay dish from South Africa, created by the Indonesian slaves brought in by the Dutch and now a South African classic. It will be a stand by for after Christmas but if it's not used I'll take it with us to Goathland where we are going to spend a few days with Grace, John and Eda in February for Grace's birthday.

Yet more shopping followed by a chill out afternoon, think the weekend has caught up with me as I feel quite tired but nothing on this evening which is a great relief.
