Marjorie's ramblings

Christmas Day 2017

We opted to have a quiet Christmas Day this year, just the two three of us.

After breakfast we had a fun FaceTime with Margaret and Peter (plus family) in Australia. They have a heat wave and there was a big thunderstorm in the afternoon. Before that they were floating in a dam on their daughter's farm and enjoying the cooling effect of the water.

When I first connected with them, the image from Australia was upside down..........

We didn't mention the cricket.......

This afternoon we watched the Queen's message and then found ourselves lost in the fairy-tale world of Cinderella.

I cooked a gammon joint for our main meal. We are having a pause before pudding at the moment.

In my extra, see Mum looking at a book that I bought for us both. It is The Lost Words by Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris. Here you can see Sienna, daughter of Indusriver, enjoying the book. It's wonderful and I can highly recommend it to all ages.

Happy Christmas to you all. I hope the holiday is a time of making happy connections with others and having time to rest a little away from the grind of ordinary life. It's a brief respite and then we need to get back to reality - or is this reality too?
