A New Year's Day Walk

Its been a delightful first day of the year.  Cathy and I did not get back from our party until the early hours and so had a lie in this morning.  At noon we met friends for a walk across the local fields.  Fortunately by then the rain had stopped and we had a dry, if rather muddy, walk.  

We stopped for a beer or two at a pub along the route which made the whole event even more cheerful.  As we walked back the sun was setting after which there was a very bright moon.  

The group then eat together and played board games - with much good natured disputing of the rules etc. A very relaxed and enjoyable start to the year.

Its now late and I have the delights of work in the morning ... sadly reality is dawning once again :-/
