2 Minutes into the New Year

The same procedure as last year. Wander down to the South Bank at about 11:45 and find a place to see the fireworks.  The view isn't quite as good as the paid tickets give, but you don't have to queue or stand around in the cold either.
The fireworks were as spectacular as ever, as were the antics of some of the other audience, who had definitely imbibed a drink ot two over their limit.
We had another drink at home afterwards and then to bed.  This morning life was a little slow but we went for a walk in the afternoon and got into the crowds watching the London New Year's Day Parade.  Walking around London was lovely. It gives such freedom for pedestrians and cyclists with most of central London's streets still closed to traffic until this evening.
