For the birds!

It was really strange not having a set time that we had to get up today.

Although we didn't go anywhere today, because it is Sunday we didn't do anything fancy or adventurous.   We had a pretty quiet day.

Kent had to thaw out the outside spigots again today and the only household task I did today was washing my bedlinen.

While the bed was stripped, I sprinkled the mattress with corn starch and left it for a couple of hours.  Then vacuumed the bed.  Put a couple of drops of lavender oil on the mattress before making the bed up.  Aaww . . . should sleep nicely tonight!

We did our Sunday FaceTime with the grandkids and Kent wandered about some outside while talking to them and they were excited to see us with more snow and ice in NC than they have in Utah!

The plows have been working hard today trying to clear the secondary roads.  Our road is a secondary road but a road that is used daily by emergency vehicles.  I think it is for this reason that they plowed our road four times, attempting to clear the ice.  It's not all gone but much better.

Schools are closed again tomorrow but Kent and many others will be heading to work as usual.

There were Downy woodpeckers, Chipping sparrows, Titmice, Chickadees, and House finch swarming the feeders and the spillage below today.  In the front yard, we spotted a killdeer.  We often see killdeer in other places in the county but this is the first time we have ever seen one at our house!  I had to include the extra as on the right it looks like we have a chipping sparrow with a nose dive death wish!
