Life in Sunny Dubai

End of the Day

It's been a real getting things done day today!

Managed to organise for some promotional t-shirts and mugs for our new website, confirmed the cake, caught up with pending stuff on the computer including finding seatbelts for the Volvo and even an entire car of the same model/year for £400 up in Leyland. Now, if I could just get up there... I could use it for spare parts. It's even white like mine! :)

We finally ventured out after 6. First to Wafi to check out one particular item in M&S which is more expensive here than in the UK! Then we checked out the newly opened Carrefour in Wafi which is so new, it isn't functioning at all like a normal Carrefour. Hope they get their act together.

Drove over to a very busy and lively part of town to meet the landlord's rep to pay the rent. Very thrilled to report it is unchanged for another year, but he still wanted his excessive "processing" charge for which I didn't even get a receipt!

And finally, we popped into Dubai Mall, mainly to put the money for the rent cheques in the bank, so I don't get into trouble if my cheque gets presented first thing tomorrow. It took a while to find a parking spot (even at 9:30pm). It was good though to see it for the first time this year. Grabbed this shot as we walked through the Souk... a shortcut more than anything else.
