If you can't beat them...

Groyne.

We decided to make a detour by the coast on our way up to visit "the Mate" in hospital.  Clickychick was wanting to see a particular part of the coast which turned out to be where we cycled to from home as a boy.  A distance of 5 miles or so.

We managed to find a parking place at Dubmill, not an easy spot.  Then what if it hadn't been so cold and windy would have been a pleasant stroll along the beach.  The groynes along the beach have always interested me, as a boy they provided shelter and somewhere to hide while changing into swimming trunks.

In the distance out on Dubmill Scar you can just see the construction CC was so interested in.  It sits right in the middle of large mussel beds which cover most of the scar.  Some say they were for Oysters, despite knowing the area for about 70 years I have never heard Oysters mentioned until blip.  I would suspect mussels rather than Oysters.
