Mrs Happy

Helenium

From my own garden this year. The neighbour where I took photos last year gave me a clump. They will soon multiply.
I managed a bee on this one. An extra to show how the colour alters as it opens fully and also the shape in the centre piece.

The second extra is a stark contrast in colour but the two would look wonderful together. This is the tide an hour before it was to be at its highest today. Up round the seat which at one time had a big drop down and dunes all around it.

Right along this coastline the storm yesterday has taken out the pathways, covered them with logs and rubbish which was further out on the spit. Much of the spit along here has gone and now the open sea comes right up to the track. The driftwood huts all gone. Further south the tide is coming over areas that are bird nesting places so time will tell whether the birds return there or not. I haven't heard how the godwits, which are much further along, fared.
