A Forest of Frost

The huge snowstorm was over when we awoke this morning. It snowed a little more and there were windy periods but these just seemed the final throes of the storm.
All around us was snow over a metre deep and we could scarcely open the front door. (See extra) The world looked very soft and gently beautiful after the drama of the storm.
Around lunch time our snow clearing man arrived and steadily shifted the snow until he was about 25 m from the house - then he went home! Later we'd find out it was because it was so icy under the snow he was worried his digger would get stuck.
So we had to get out there and wade, step and trample through the first 25 meters to get to the cleared path. We dug out the two cars (extra), cleared the snow from the TV dish, dug our way up to Betty's and then started digging down to the cellar before exhaustion made us give up!  We were out for nearly 4 hours and working hard the whole time. There's always tomorrow!
As the storm ended the temperature had dropped to -10°C and the wet snow on the window frames froze. Dampness from that snow created a set of frost feathers on several of the window frames. This one made me think of trees and bushes in a forest, which seemed apt with the real trees and bushes of the forest blurred in the background.
All my frost feathers, and HarlingDarling's take on the day.
