An ordinary life....

Snow Drift...

Woke up to more snow overnight then another snowfall early afternoon but we've still gotten off lightly compared to just a few miles down the road.  That said I got an email from Tesco at 8am to say my delivery that was due to arrive between 9am and 10am had been cancelled.  I wasn't surprised and thank goodness I wasn't relying on anything in it.

Our old neighbourhood is snowed in!  Just as it was in the last massive snowfall in 2010, the M80 has proved to be a nightmare with people stranded overnight in their cars with absolutely no hope of moving anywhere.  David was stranded on it for 8 hours in 2010 and other friends overnight so I have know what those poor stranded people were going through.  Absolute nightmare.

Unfortunately the M80 is one of the motorways two of Alan's PA's have to navigate on their way here and they're both working tomorrow.  Not sure what state the motorway will be in tomorrow but definitely don't want them to risk getting stuck trying to get here.

Jordan left just after lunch and David helped him dig his car out.  He'd left it on the road into the golf club (our driveway has a slight incline and is a nightmare to get out of in the snow) and a snow plough had cleared the road leaving his car hemmed in by a wall of snow!  Just thankful he got home safely.

So we've had a very lazy day.  Lola's had two walks on the snow bound golf course and loved every second.  She thinks the snow is excellent for rolling in.  I remember the days when I was just as happy to see so much snow.  Those days are gone, now it's just a nuisance!

I had hoped to take some snowy macro shots though but the snow had drifted about a foot up the garden room door and there was no way to open it without the snow falling into the room, so just took one shot through the glass.

Couldn't resist adding photos of Alan and Lola in extras.  Lola is loving the extra freedom of being able to roam around more of the house and it's lovely that she always heads for Alan's sitting room.

I was in the kitchen and could hear him laughing hysterically and went through to see what was going on.  Found Lola trying to steal his socks.  I think she thinks she's a therapy dog!  He has said she is allowed on his sofa so will need to get a throw for it.  He's not daft, he knows if she's snuggled on the sofa, she's leaving his socks alone!

So another quiet night in.  Don't think there will be much happening tomorrow either other than David walking to the Coop in the hope they have some milk!

Stay safe snow bound peeps xx

PS  Tesco didn't manage to get here with my food delivery but a very tenacious DPD driver did manage to deliver our new ironing board!  Didn't have the new iron though.  What a pity* :-(

*Does happy dance :D
