50 Words for Snow

My favourite word for snow is "gone".

And boy did it go. With an ear shattering crash of thunder the white distraction fell to an onslaught of hailstones and freezing rain - and then the Sun came out. Snowmen across the county looked to the sky with coal back hatred, as carrot noses began to droop. On our afternoon walk under clear blue skies the skylarks were singing their hearts out. Other people were out walking; not just mad fools like us, who walk in all weathers.

I declare winter gone. They did that in spring 1963, you know. This time, it won't be back. Please.
