Not Too Challenging

This morning I sowed tomato and melon seeds (ever the optimist) and  potted on some plug plants which I got in Aldi. I'm very pleased with their progress.  

Then I did some more hacking back and picking up - outdoor housework, I call it. It seems never-ending.  

TM moved dry logs into the stores which we've been using over the winter, to make space in the drying shelter for the tree that was felled on Saturday. It was a Norway Spruce, about 40 years old and had outgrown its situation. There's a lot of it!

After all that, we gave ourselves the afternoon off, and went for a walk.
A nice gentle walk, to the top of Gersit Law. The views are good, considering it isn't much of a hill. 

On top is the building in the picture - a very grandiose mausoleum commissioned by the occupant.  Perhaps he was famous in his day.

If you stand in front of it, there's a wonderful panorama of the Cheviot Hills. The Pennine Way starts (or ends) up there.

The theme for Wide-Angle Wednesday today is 'countryside', so I've chosen two pictures of the countryside in which I live.
