An ordinary life....

Rude. RUDE!

Backblip

Ignore my blip title.  It stems from one of those conversations where you had to be there, but it will make me laugh when I stumble on this blip in the future and remember it's origins :-)

Alan had his third attempt at meeting up with pals from his Craighalbert days this afternoon.  At his first meet up in January he was ill, the second time in February it was cancelled due to the snow.  This time they planned to meet in Stirling to go Ten Pin Bowling but Alan, Carole and Christine got caught up for nearly three hours in a horrendous traffic jam on the A9 due to a serious accident that closed the road.  Eventually the police turned everyone around so they just came back home again.  He was not best pleased!

He cheered up again when I reminded him who was coming to dinner and staying over.  Alan has quite a soft spot for Gail and LeeAnne, especially LeeAnne who, as the provider of virtually naked "tasteful" pretty lady posters for his bedroom walls, has earned a special place in his heart :D

Poor Gail had a bit of a detour to get here due to the aforementioned accident plus another one at the Broxden roundabout at Perth, but they both got here safely and the fun began :-)

I had prepared a delicious (she said modestly :-))) but health conscious three course meal - cracked black pepper, melon, feta and mint salad to start followed by Jamaican chicken, homemade oven fries, mixed salad, homemade coleslaw and beetroot, and to finish, strawberries drizzled with dark chocolate, strawberry coulis, fromage frais and the pièce de résistance...the MOST DELICIOUS, healthy chocolate brownies an oxymoron if ever there was one! ever and if Gail and LeeAnne anyone tells you differently, don't you believe them!

We were in bed by 1am.  Quite tame for one of our get togethers. They're getting old.
