Quod oculus meus videt

The start of the Commonwealth Games today.  I thought our weather had been transported to the Gold Coast when I saw the first images on the television.  Sheets of rain coming down and the spectators huddling under ponchos and waterproof coats.  It was a day to stay put, in the main, though we did get some pleasant sunshine in amongst the heavy downpours.  Typical April weather!

I was reacquainting myself with the Nikon equipment and spent a few minutes shooting some Chrysanthemums, bought for us at Easter.

After work we tried to get a short walk in between the showers.  We failed miserably, but at least we were out as the shower clouds started to recede and the sun came out for a fleeting moment.  We looked for the rainbow, but it was a weak affair and mainly hidden behind trees.  Actually, it was the trees that then took my eye (see extra).  Everything seemed that more saturated (excuse the pun) as a result of having had a good soaking.
