BROKEN BUT STILL BEAUTIFUL

Fierce winds and rain battered
This beautiful hellebore 
Outside my kitchen window
The stem was broken
And the flower bruised
But walking by
I noticed it
So it now has pride of place
On the kitchen windowsill
Where I can enjoy its beauty.

Sometimes we are broken
And bruised by what 
Happens to us in life
Until someone notices
Comes alongside
To help us through our pain
Set us back on our feet
And believe in us -
So that when we are healed
We can help others.

If you feel broken and bruised
Embrace those who come to your side
So that when they have helped you
And you are healed
Renewed
And refreshed
You can begin again
And then help others
Who need you.

This is the circle of life.
