Dexter: Dinner for One, Please!

It occurred to me that I have never actually posted a photo here of Dexter eating. Yes, isn't that strange! So here is the little master, at his dinner bowl, tucking into his Fancy Feast.

Dexter gets one can of Fancy Feast each day, split between lunch and dinner. The flavors he prefers are beef and chicken, chicken, chicken and tuna, chopped grill feast, tuna, and turkey. Sometimes I get the versions that include cheddar cheese too. (He also gets fresh cooked chicken twice a day, and a bit of dry food, and treats.)

Dexter is eating his meal out of a ceramic bowl (stainless steel would probably be even better). We used to use plastic bowls, but they sometimes gave him skin irritations on his chin. So we switched.

We also practice basic cleanliness, to prevent the growth of bacteria. We wash his food bowl before each feeding. The water bowl gets washed and refilled in the morning and at night time just before bed.

The food bowl and water bowl are placed on a plastic tray, in case of spilling. Both bowls are wide enough that Dexter can put his face into them without developing whisker fatigue. (Did you even know that was a thing!?)

And you all know what follows dinner: a little time in the car with me (see here and here), followed by treats, followed by the evening nap. All good things, all in due time. But for now: OM NOM!!!!  :-)
