Mono Monday . . . Patriotism

The lovely daughter is staying with us for a few days.  In the hunt for a MM image we decided to walk the War Memorials in Nelson.  We started with the Nelson Cathedral.  In the grounds is this memorial to the fallen in WW1.  It is a traditional marble statue of a New Zealand soldier in uniform.  Greater love have no man than this, that he lay down his life for his country.
I think those young men who died overseas were probably being patriotic and proud to be serving New Zealand.
You can see it was a beautiful sunny day to be walking.  We had lunch in the Suter Gallery Cafe.  A spot of shopping followed which is a pass time we both enjoy.
