Sissinghurst Castle Gardens

Well done Al, he solved the problem of my blip uploads sticking on 99% and timing out. It was all to do with uploading directly from the SD card via a multi-card reader into a USB 1 port which he said was too slow. He advised copying to the hard disk then uploading from there and hey presto! it worked.

A good day again with Al and Liz which started with a fine lunch followed on with a trip to the world famous National Trust property at Sissinghurst, the home of Harold Nicolson and Vita Sackville-West. Today's blip was taken from the top of the tower, the place where Vita did all her writing. The old brick of the buildings, the replacements and the weathered nature of the building materials was fascinating, on a par with the gardens.

After a visit to the vegetable gardens, cultivated on a "no dig" system it was home to tea and cake and a little later dinner of salmon and tarragon with hot cross bun bread and butter pudding with orange curd.
