Corner of the Churchyard

A lovely morning for the start of our holiday.  Once the last minute chres were done and w=packing was done, we eventually set off. We stopped en route for a lovely lunch, and the rain started.  Our next stop was Alnwick in the rain, so we went to the supermarket and stocked up for the week, including a brolly!

We went in search of our holiday accommodation but couldn’t get parked near it, so we went for a drive up the valley before trying again – when we were more successful.  Once we were unpacked and settled in, I went for wander in the rain (which wasn’t as heavy).  The stepping stones over the river were impassable (extra).  BB and TT were watching a the first of many holiday DVDS – Roald Dahls’s Tales, followed by a Shrek movie and then a Pirates of the Caribbean film. 

In amongst all that we had fish and chips, and I started another of BB’s books, Auggie and Me.
