Nicky and her Nikon

A better day

Murdoch seemed a tiny bit more cheerful this morning and ate a little food - I took him back to the vet for a follow up and he has prescribed antibiotics and some other anti inflammatory pills. He thinks it is just a very bad case of a gastroenteritis, and not pancreatitis , although the treatment for both is the same so both bases are covered by the medication he is on. After the vet it was on to the physio and that patient is doing very well, all his rehab exercises and icing are showing a positive result.

I also managed to get Thomas on to a summer course in engineering at university for year 12 students - well, he applied 8 months ago, filled out all the forms and personal statement but we had not heard since then and we were getting fobbed off every time we phoned to query it, so I wrote a rather strong email saying how poor their administration and communication was, and the new manager phoned me today and apologised (for the way the previous manager had dealt with his application) and offered Thomas a choice of courses - it pays to be determined with this kind of thing!

It rained quite heavily this afternoon. The forecast is for much cooler weather over the next few days, what a difference from a week ago. Here is a drippy azalea flower from my garden.

Finally the new royal baby has been named - can't say I like that name, and Louis Mountbatten did not exactly cover himself in glory over the partition of India so I would not consider him a hero.
