A time for everything

St. Gertrude Parish Church

Saturday
It was a grey day today and quite a bit cooler. We went out this morning to look at mailboxes - our current one is rather rickety - and patio furniture - our old set was beginning to rust away when we left France, so we got rid of the chairs, and left the table, which was still reasonable, for the guy who was taking on the rental house after us. Then last year we just never got around to replacing it. After lunch, I did some knitting and went grocery shopping. This evening we went to see the movie “The Leisure Seeker”, starring Helen Mirren and Donald Sutherland. Traveling in their vintage recreational vehicle, which they called the Leisure Seeker, John and Ella Spencer take one last road trip from Boston to the Hemingway House in the Florida Keys before his Alzheimer's and her cancer can catch up with them, much to the great consternation of their son and daughter, who don’t know where they have gone. Once again, the critics didn’t think anything of it, but we found it very moving, at times quite funny, and very well acted. I hadn’t taken a photograph all day, but on the way back from Mariement, we pass this lovely church, beautifully lit up at night, so I thought that could serve for my Blip today.
