Choisya

The choisya ternata we have is covered in blossom this year, probably the most it has ever had. Back in the winter it lost two quite large branches under the weight of snow, so perhaps the stress has prompted it to try especially hard this spring. Its spicy scent is lovely too, though preferably in moderation. It seems very happy where it is, and the only problem is keeping it from encroaching on the footpath it borders, whilst retaining a reasonably attractive overall shape. Its a common enough shrub, but one that earns its keep.
