Marjorie's ramblings

Not THAT wedding!

I did see some of the coverage of Harry and Meghan's wedding on TV this morning, but had to leave in time to be in Hexham Abbey after lunch for a rehearsal for tonight's Nordic Voices concert.

Our choir (North Tyne voices}, and the Tynedale Community Choir were both performing in Hexham Abbey in a concert that was part of the new Nordic Voices festival.

It was good fun, but a long rehearsal. We had just enough time to rush home, down a meal, change and be back ready for the real thing this evening. I thought our choir sang well again although we had to sit in a very unusual configuration that made it hard.

We also had folk tales from Sweden (rather long), a Swedish call to the reindeer, plus a few Northumberland songs and a couple of poems.
Kathryn, our choir leader, sang beautifully.

At the end of a vocal arrangement of  Finlandia we all had flags to wave, representing all the Nordic nations.

My blip is from today's wedding in Hexham Abbey with a reception spent partly on the grass outside. They seemed to be having a wonderful time.
