Two out of three

It is so lovely to have Adam home for a few days - even though he is working hard in preparation for his exams it is lovely to catch up with him again. Here are two out of the three brothers, I got smiles in this one but the outtakes include some very silly faces!

Although we have a covered patio when the sun moves around it can become very hot on the one side, and when we eat meals out there one half is in shade and the other half is in full sun. So this morning Gavin and I went to B&Q to buy one of those large parasols. What should have been a 30 minute exercise became something far longer as we could not agree on what size to buy, and ended up buying the smaller one, carrying the heavy thing all the way to the car before realising we should have bought the larger one and having to go back again and exchange it - anyway it has now been erected and it works very well and when we ate lunch out there today we were all in the shade!

I have enjoyed reading all the commentaries in the news today about yesterday's royal wedding. All the comments have been very positive, it certainly was a wedding that will be remembered for being different in a good way. I was so pleased to see how kind and welcoming Prince Charles was to Meghan's mum, at the service and the after party. It must have been so overwhelming for her, and her controlled emotions during the service touched everyone. I seem to have put the cat amongst the pigeons for saying I did not enjoy Rev Michael Curry's sermon - I did not have a problem with his sermon per se, he had a strong message to deliver which he did very ably (except it was far too long), I just felt the time and place for such an impassioned and lengthy sermon was not appropriate at a royal wedding. He seems to have certainly attracted plenty of attention and opinion about his sermon seems to be quite divided.
