Allotment BBQ

We had a lovely very full day with Karen and Neil, beginning with a relaxed breakfast in the conservatory. From there we drove via all the smallest countryroads to Aylsham. There we had a look in the auction room before walking into the middle of the town. We had a nice tea/coffee/cake stop, then a wander around the charity shops where I bought two new tops. It is a lovely traditional market town and has the best butcher. Old fashioned. We bought sausages for our barbeque. On the walk back to the car Karen and I both bought a lovely red potentilla from a table outside a house. Money into an honesty jar. I like that about small villages and towns.

From there we drove to Cromer. We bought some fresh Cromer crabs for our lunch and covered a few more interesting shops taking a brief peek at the grey looking sea which lapped against the pier.

After a late lunch we spent the afternoon chatting away more hours. At 6.30 we loaded the car up with bits for our bbq and Jon drove while we followed on foot. We have had a really lovely evening barbequing, a bit of weeding and digging, ending with a cosy fire in the barbeque coals. It was the most peaceful location. We watched the barn own hunt up and down the field of corn adjacent to us, but he bever came close enough for a good photo. At just before 10 it began to rain. We packed up and just made it back before the rain really started to come down.

A nightcap before Karen and Neil headed next door for bed. A lovely day with lovely friends.
