You have to hope that someone knows what they are doing and has the blueprint the right way up as the excavators continue to dig a cavernous channel all the way from the top of Middle Meadow Walk through to Potterow.
The disruption is enormous so it amazes me that the labourers get all the pipes and everything else in the right place.
Behind the devastation, to the right of the blip, the trees hide the verdant green tranquility of George Square Gardens (extra image).
With any luck, the ongoing work will preclude the use of the Gardens by the Edinburgh Fringe with all the razzmatazz involved in that. Fingers crossed anyway.
