Rain, I don't mind*

I love it when it's been hot and then the rain comes down; it feels like the land is radiating relief, its thirst quenched, and the smells are amazing.

Not that it felt like the rain was going to last. This has been the best (early) summer I can remember in all the time I lived here. I've realised just how much I enjoy the sunshine and the warmth.

The Minx and I chat from time to time about what we'll do once the kids have all left home. I think there's a chance we'll stay in Kirkby Lonsdale, although we often talk about moving to Edinburgh. Right now, though, I'm remembering those chats about moving to Kent.
