Ruins

After a lazy start, Caitlin and I made it to the Temple of Apollon in Didimya for lunch and culture.  Can't ever get too much of either of those.  Then drove to Altinkum sea front for a very different kind of culture. We people watched on the board walk with a beer and then went home again after dinner at Esinti restaurant in Akbuk.  Got back to discover that the residential caretaker had packed up and left (expected).  Blipping and comments may be somewhat ad hoc for a few days whilst various maintenance of site issues and new caretaker search takes place.

Didyma was an ancient Greek sanctuary on the coast of Ionia. It contained a temple and oracle of Apollo, the Didymaion. In Greek didyma means "twin", but the Greeks who sought a "twin" at Didyma ignored the Carian origin of the name.Wikipedia  (More information here)
