“Déja vue”

Saturday
Sweltering day today, reaching a high of 93 F ( almost 34 C), and it was still about 90 as we drove up to Hamilton at about 6 pm to go to a concert by Butler (County) Philharmonic at Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park. We took a picnic with us which we enjoyed first at a picnic table near the pavilion. The pavilion is a large covered structure, open on three sides. They had some fans set up, but we couldn’t feel much benefit where we were sitting. They stopped at several points during the concert, between pieces to re-tune, as some of the instruments go out of tune fairly quickly in those temperatures! The sculpture shown in my blip is called Déja vue, and has only just been installed, right across from the pavilion - it is on loan for up to two years. It is by a female African American artist, Chakaia Booker, who specializes in art using discarded tyres, usually large works to be shown outside.
Thankful today for air conditioning and ceiling fans!
