Dinner on the patio

After yesterday evening’s heat and humidity, temperatures this evening were pleasant, as there had been more clouds around during the day, culminating in a rain shower passing through late afternoon, bringing the temperatures down somewhat. We had been watching the  World Cup in the afternoon, and had been planning to go for a swim afterwards, but thanks to the game going into extra time, and then the rain, we had to forego that. By the time we ate, however, the skies were looking a bit clearer, and so we were able to eat out on the patio, enjoying the pleasant temperatures. On the menu was grilled pork ribs, steamed asparagus and oven-baked sweet potato fries, with an aioli dipping sauce. I don’t know why I don’t do sweet potato fries more often - they were really good, especially with the aioli! To make up for our missed swim, we went for a brisk neighborhood walk after dinner.
