The Old Forge - Before... (Monday 2nd July 2018)

On Gardening Friday Refna decided it was time to uncover the driveway flower bed that had been under plastic and slate cover for a year or more in an attempt to suppress bindweed.

The bed had been donated by me to all driveway users and had last been managed by K. at 68, but had been left to nature for several years, and the buddleia she had planted as a sapling had run wild. By the end of the morning the bed had been mostly uncovered and weeded and various shrubs cut back.

Stage Two will be to plant bulbs and seeds and add cuttings while maintaining and pruning the existing shrubbery.

This week's Mono Monday theme is Patience And Wrath. Patience will be understood by anyone with a garden yet to be established, while wrath is represented by the colonisation and takeover of the area by bloody bindweed.

I was having software problems on the PC yesterday and today. I think these were caused by cable problems between the external hard drive and the PC, or by the hard drive itself, due to the unusual heat, so today transferred the master files to the PC itself for working on. So far so good.
