Bottle Kilns on the Caldon Canal

Had a lovely morning and a blip meet with AnnieandChris who are currently  on a narrowboat travelling along the Caldon Canal.  I walked up from its junction with the Trent and Mersey, walking through old industry and regenerated residential areas.  I really appreciated that the architect had retained the two bottle kilns, giving them such prominence amongst the housing in this area.

On meeting with the boat, I enjoyed a return trip under engine power, leaving them when we got back to the junction.  Got to admit they picked a brilliant week to be 'messing' about on water!
