Homestead Creek Gorge, Mutawintji
We are just back from 4 days in a remote National Park in NW NSW. Yesterday my Brother in Law and I went for a strenouos walk up this gorge to a permanent rock pool. It was cold, dry and incredibly dusty ( just ask Walking Wombat about the dust). Some parts were beautiful but on the whole it is remote and flat with little to recommend it. The reason for the NP status is is it the sacred site for many Aboriginal tribes who gathered there for ceremonies ( dating back 10,000 years). I will post back blips to show the art work and other features.
The night sky was AMAZING. no lights for hundreds of kilometres and the Milky Way was very bright.
