Butterfly on Lavender

I went for a bike ride on this lovely morning, looking for a blip (hopefully a derelict one for the Derelict Sunday challenge). I got some reasonable shots but nothing spectacular - although I was pleased to be reminded that we still have a lot of farmland not too far from here in spite of so much greenfield house building going on (there you are: for once I'm not being a grumpy old man today!).

However when I got home and saw lots of butterflies on our lavender, they just had to be my blip subject. I was lucky enough to catch this one in the act of sipping some nectar - and (unusually for me) I wasn't using rapid fire today either!

If you look closely you can see that there's a few threads of spiders' web there too.
