Heather and Bog Myrtle Bouquet

We attended the wedding of our cousin Kate M and Aonghas (pronounced Innes) at the Argyllshire Gathering Halls in Oban. It was a beautiful do, with lovely speeches, a ceilidh and buffet, and even a sweetie cart for the kids! The bouquet was Heather and Bog Myrtle because of the song we sang, Will ye go, Lassie, Go? ( all around the blooming heather...)

I really enjoyed meeting some of my cousins again, and the dancing, though it was not as enthusiastic as it would have been twenty years ago when the older generation were younger! My mother was there, and her brother the father of the bride, but the other two brothers weren't there, one has peripheral neuropathy and the other has Parkinson's.

When the bride and groom came to cut the four-tier cake, her little niece gasped, and said
"are they going to eat all that cake themselves?"

We Auld Lang Syned at about midnight, and caught a taxi home and carried on with the party.
