If you can't beat them...

Bombus leuconeura.

Our first day in Edinburgh with Katkatkat.  As she relies on public transport she takes advantage of our visits to do things she normally finds difficult.  With a day on the allotment scheduled for tomorrow a tour of garden centres was requested.

Our first port of call was Pentland Plants out near Ikea and Asda.  A large commercial place it was as you would expect for this time of year a blaze of colour.  All the flowers attracted lots of insects with these White Tailed Bumblebees being the most numerous.

From there we moved to the Secret Herb Garden on Old Pentland Road.  Kat was after some herbs and of course this was the ideal place.  It was also ideal for lunch and coffee.  Lots of interest as we wandered round, the Saddleback Pigs were for me an attraction, as far as I am concerned pigs are the best farm animal.

Finally we popped into Damhead Nursery in Damhead (where else) after Kat had chosen her plants and Clickychick succumbed to the charms of a couple we headed back to the flat with a loaded car.
