New Road Surface

Today was an early Addenbrookes appointment for my husband; this was on time and we went into town. We had an appointment at the Apple shop at 1430 hours and hoped they might have an earlier slot, but no, they did not. We had coffee and a walk and just as we got almost to the top of the escalator in the library the fire alarm went off’ it was not a drill so we all left the library. We went to Costa close by for coffee and then half-an-hour later went back to the library for lunch. It seems it was just a ‘glitch’ and not a real fire. We had another walk after lunch with more coffee and in my case cake, in the Green Coffee Company Café. After the appointment with Apple, which took an hour, we came home.

The new road surface has been laid today and stops between our gateway. The Council do not seem to know where their part ends and according to some paperwork we have it ends at the station entrance. However, different workmen have different ideas and they stopped just short of the large hole that needs repairing; not their problem it seems! We do not know who is responsible for the upkeep of the rest of the lane. So today’s picture is of the new road surface which forms part of my “Onestreet” series, which was started several years ago, by Kendalishere.
