Happy Campers

Forget holiday camps or days at the zoo, these two are happy with a day at the campervan dealers!
We love Penny but are realising that she's too small and not practical for us long term. Miss L doesn't like waking up in the morning with her face pressed against the condensation soaked fabric side of the roof - I don't blame her, it must be a bit like a cold flappy shower curtain!
We don't like them waking up at the crack of dawn, insisting on coming down and having nowhere to go apart from our bed.
And it's annoying having so much stuff stacked up when we travel. We can't just stop in lay-bys and make cups of tea as I'd envisaged because there's stuff blocking the cupboards and fridge and we can't get to the kettle.
I know, first world problems!!
So we've been thinking about alternatives and looking at pictures of bigger campervans and motorhomes. Mr K was keen to go and see some in the flesh so we headed off to the dealer near Banbury where my mum and dad got theirs.
I'm realising that fighting turning into my mum and dad is futile!!
Miss E was very upset at the thought of abandoning Penny - in case she felt sad and unloved. It was all I could do not to cry when she was getting so upset! She point blank refused to come and look at any other campers at first but then, grudgingly, agreed to come.
As long as she could stay in the car. Being miserable!
And not under any circumstances get out and look at campers.
Thankfully she had a change of heart as soon as we got there and was soon climbing up into every roof, operating every electric step, checking the capacity of every fridge, and ascertaining whether or not there was an umbrella holder in the door. A deal breaker apparently!
We couldn't drag them away! I think we examined every single campervan they had - dozens of them. All in fifty million degree heat. It was exhausting!!
Miss E named her favourite Marshall. They're boys apparently! And is clearly coming round to the idea of a bigger van!
We'll see. Probably something we'll do for next year.
