Summer morning by the Ohio River

Wednesday
After a frustrating hour or more this morning trying to sort out some details with our British bank, we decided to do something different today activity-wise, and drove to downtown Cincinnati, and walked along the river, through International Friendship Park, through Yeatmans Cove and Sawyer Point to Smale Riverfront Park, the most recent of the riverfront Parks, a wonderful space, with many features of appeal to children and adults. It was lunchtime by this time, and several of the riverboats were setting out on their lunch cruises. We passed the Great American Ballpark, where the Cincinnati Reds were playing the St. Louis Cardinals. As we walked, we could hear several cheers go up from the crowds, and a couple of times we heard the fireworks marking a home run, so it seemed that things were going well for the home crowd. I have since checked online, and the Reds did indeed win 7-3! We then walked up into the downtown area to go for lunch at a Mexican restaurant we had been to when Laura was home for Christmas and New Year.we had really enjoyed it, and I have been wanting to go back. So we got our 10,000 steps, some great views and a good lunch - a successful outing!
