If you can't beat them...

Survivor.

In January I took this miniature Phalaenopsis to an event at a nursery in the south of the county.   It was one I rescued from Katkatkat who owing to a busy life hadn't kept it as well as it should have been.

One of the things on offer was a free potting service.  When she started to pot it her comment was "it's got no roots!".   Having potted it as best she could she said "I will have to take this flower spike off, it has to put its energy into growing roots".  A new leaf has grow and the flower spike started and grew new buds.  So I must be doing something right.

It is a miniature Phalaenopsis.  I hadn't realised the difference in size until I measured them before blipping.  The mini has a flower about 1.5 inches (3 cm) across the normal in another room has a flower 4.5 inches (11 cm) across.
