The Kraken

Warwick backblip 2

Still hot, hot, hot and sunny, but with a very blustery wind, and we spent the day on our stall at Warwick Folk Festival. Met some lovely people who came to look at/try our instruments, and it was very good to see several friends too.

Wandering around the festival site in the afternoon I passed the Kraken, a  hazel and willow sculpture based on the mythical creature that rises from the deep to claim a sea-faring victim. Made by the students, it marks the first Warwick School Arts Festival, held earlier this month. Inside its head was a very young girl - "I'm a monster", she shouted as loudly as she could. We were all very frightened!
