Gently down the stream

Bee bum boom!

Today was a very thistly day - problems with spines on them, not least of which was getting around Winchester with roads empty of traffic but iron gridlock ringing the town and wrecking the bus routes.  All thanks to folks arriving at the BoomTown music festival, of which I'll hear distant echoes as I'm drifting to sleep tonight!

So today's blip is of (I think, I'm not much good on thistles) a spear thistle, Cirsium vulgare, nicely decorated by a bee bum.

A huge thank you to you all for your reaction to my last two blips.  I'm incredibly grateful and, to be honest, slightly overwhelmed.  A wonderful early birthday present, shall we call it?  When is my birthday?  The clue's in my blipname.   ;-D

Have a very happy Thursday night, dream about the weekend and don't forget your entries for #WFW09..  xx
