Canary Sneezeweed

A stalk with these cheerful bright yellow flowers came in the bouquet that arrived last night and I've found out they're called Helenium Kanaria or Canary in English. Helenium is named after Helen of Troy, the flower is part of the family of Sneezeweeds, so called because the dried flowers of this family were used for snuff ! For Flower Friday, with thanks to Anni/BikerBear for hosting :-)

I've spent most of the day with son no 2 in the other house waiting for a mechanic from the internet/tv provider, a long wait, but hopefully the wait was worth it, parents-in-law's cable connections were hopelessly outdated (as is much in that house !) Fingers crossed the new connections make all the difference.

Thanks very much for all the Abstract Thursday entries and the kind comments and stars for my orange cone flower heart, two of you told me their tags for AT163 didn't work, Annie from BlipCentral has sorted that (apparently there was a slight glitch last night) but if you're reading this and you have sent in an Abstract Thursday entry which doesn't turn up in the AT163 collection then please tell me and we can get that sorted too !
