Coffee making

We've found an excellent place for breakfast, just across the road from the hotel. Great coffee, varied and interesting breakfasts, cool decor and world class people watching. What more do you want before 9am in the morning? It's located in what was Melbourne's first telephone exchange, and both the inside and the outside have been sympathetically restored with great bespoke artefacts on the walls.

I went back to MLS after breakfast and made use of their library to do some work, before meeting with some colleagues for coffee and then lunch. Lots of interesting people.

After lunch, I called in on SMcV, whom I probably haven't seen for 25 years, and who works at MLS. It was so strange meeting him again. It was almost as if we were picking up a conversation we accidentally let fall 25 years ago. Mr A joined us for a coffee as well, and then we wandered back here via the Victoria Market, which was just shutting for the afternoon. We were going to go out for something to eat, but in the end I popped out to get snacks as Mr A wasn't feeling too bright. I also went in the pool at the hotel, and that helped somewhat with the footpain, although I'm coming to the conclusion that the footpain might be metatarsalgia rather than related to the sciatica. Certainly massaging the ball of the foot does seem to help.

What a bunch of crocks we are...
