Out and about!

Today we went to North Somerset for Eda to have a swimming session. The group that ran the classes Eda attended in Bristol were running free sessions with their trainees at a hotel near the airport.
Eda loves her swimming and will jump into the water and go under now quite happily.

We then went to a nearby restaurant, The Ethicurian at the Barley Wood walled gardens. There are orchards and vegetable gardens as well as these lovely flower borders, plus craft workshops.

The cafe aims to use seasonal produce which is predominantly grown in the gardens. Very popular all the indoor tables were booked but there was plenty of room outside. No problem, it was warm and the views over the North Somerset countryside were lovely. We ordered fresh apple juice and then the trouble began. Wasps!

We managed to coax many of them to a nearby table with empty bottles and glasses with a drop of juice in but they were a real pain. Nevertheless we had a lovely little nah and the wasps didn't bother Eda at all. She ate all her lunch and some of ours! She particularly enjoyed her tomatoes - extra.

On our return we went to her one year Health Visitor check, even though she is not yet 11 months. Needless to say she is doing well and really enjoyed playing with the toys including a doll in a bath. Who'd have thought. The Health Visitor asked if she had a doll. Not something I would have thought of buying her just yet!

(Today would have been my Dad's 100th birthday!)
