Life in Sunny Dubai

Selfie time

Today has felt a bit like de ja vu except we did things with Karen and Alan!

After a nice relaxed start, I finally got in touch with someone about servicing the boiler and getting a certificate. It is one of the requirements of the Park.

I noticed a lot of spray coming from a lodge nearby. As we were driving out, I stopped to ask the person who was doing the jet washing if he was the owner. He wasn't, which is good because for a couple of years now, I've felt the wood on the decking and skirting really needs attention This man was hosing down the outside and then according to its purpose, was going to repaint using the correct paint. His initial quote was really high but with a job that requires four days, I guess it wasn't unreasonable. We shall see. He had a walk around our Lodge to give his assessment of what it needs. I've yet to find out his verdict.

We met up with Karen and Alan in Guildford, which was great for us. Karen hasn't been to Guildford so it was a good chance for her to see it. We caught up over lunch, and then stopped at a camera shop on the way to the Castle.

The walk through the castle was fun. Karen wanted a picture of the four of us in one frame. We tried with a stand first but found the selfie stick worked much better. I've never had or used a selfie stick, so it was great to see how they actually work!

Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye all too soon. Karen & Alan wanted to avoid Bank Holiday weekend traffic. We came home via Shere, stopping there for a loaf of bread.

And the rest of the day. I'd eaten too much, so needed a little nap. It then started to rain, and I loved watching it through the French windows. You certainly feel right in it in this little room. The heating went on even!

There was some practice of songs on the guitar for Sunday's service, and G spent time (on my laptop) preparing her sermon. A really happy and well paced day.
