Rainbow return

For today's blip I am grateful to Mr hazelh who looked up from his seat in the departure lounge at Stornoway airport this afternoon just at the right moment. It captures our mood today. We're sad to be leaving this beautiful island after such a marvellous holiday, but have hope in our hearts for our next visit. We'll most likely be back in late spring/early summer next year.

Our journey home was straightforward. We reached the airport by bus, Edinburgh by plane, and home by tram. We made it back to the house just in time to make up a bedroom for Katherina and Andrew. They arrived about an hour after us for a long weekend at the Fringe.

Paddy and Caitlin are also still here. They cooked a marvellous meal for us all: homemade olive and sun-dried tomato foccacia, sweet potato and mushroom lasagne, and lemon drizzle cake. The evening ended with music in the sitting room.

My extra is of the wild montbretia that grows along the shoreline on Uig Sands.

Exercise today: airport walking (8947 steps).
