Two Little Monkeys

An early start this morning as usual when we're camping.
Part of the reason we're thinking of getting a beast of a motorhome bigger campervan is the issue of the Little Misses waking up at the crack of dawn and wanting to come down and there being nowhere for them to go apart from our bed which means we get completely squashed or have to get up and put the bed away. It's mostly Miss L who wakes up freezing cold and often wet from the condensation on the inside of the canvas roof. And it's hard to get her down without waking Miss E. All in all it's a pretty crappy start to the day!!!
That said, I walked to the loo at 6.15am and was treated to a beautiful sunrise and the sight of the geese, ducks, turkeys and peacocks wandering around, and the baby goats and calves in their barns. Beautiful!
The forecast for today was pretty ropey so Mr K decided to take the Little Misses to Monkey World. We could have taken Archie and left him in the car but I thought it was just easier to stay at the campsite with him and let them have a nice day together.
Once they'd gone Archie and I snuggled up under a blanket, drank tea, listened to Audible (Archie's particularly enjoying Pillars of the Earth!!!) and generally lazed around. There was a lull in the rain after lunch (avocado, mushrooms and tomatoes on toast. Just for a change!!) so I took Archie out for a quick walk before settling back down for an afternoon listening to the football. First day of the season and a 2-0 win over Brighton, whoop whoop!!!!
Mr K and the Little Misses had a wonderful at Monkey World. Mr K had sent me lots of pictures throughout the day and, despite the rain, they loved looking at all the monkeys and playing in the outdoor play areas and adventure playgrounds. And showing Monkey and Beau all the real monkeys!
Miss E was particularly full of it when they got back telling me all about the monkeys they'd seen. She'd bought a notebook in the gift shop (because the seven hundred notebooks she has just aren't enough!!!!) and is currently writing a story about Spider Monkeys!
